Screens, deadlines, and classroom noise can set recovery back if you jump in too fast. We build staged return-to-learn and return-to-work plans that match your symptoms and your real-world demands.

Concussion affects concentration, screen tolerance, headache, and fatigue. Those are the exact tools you need for school, university, or office work. Going back full-time on day three often triggers a symptom crash that costs more time overall.
Return to work and school planning uses graduated steps: reduced hours, modified tasks, exam accommodations, and clear criteria to advance or step back. We align with Complete Concussions return-to-learn principles used internationally.
Parents, teachers, and employers get plain-language guidance when you want us involved. We start from your concussion assessment and adjust as symptoms change.
We map your roles (subjects, shifts, commute, screen time) against current symptom triggers. Together we set a staged schedule: which tasks return first, what breaks look like, and how to monitor for flare.
Planning often runs alongside exercise rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, and Post-Concussion Syndrome management when symptoms persist.
We provide written summaries for school wellbeing staff or workplace managers when helpful. Athletes with dual demands also use our return to sport pathway in parallel.

Return planning is delivered within concussion physiotherapy consultations. Initial $139, follow-up $115. Extended planning sessions are quoted if needed. Private health rebates apply for in-clinic visits where eligible.
Acute neurological red flags need emergency care, not a return-to-work letter. Severe mental health crisis requires appropriate crisis services alongside medical care.
We support functional return planning. We do not replace occupational medicine or psychiatry when those specialties lead care.

Common questions
There is no single number. Many people need a short initial reduction, then graded return. We set stages based on symptoms and role demands, not arbitrary day counts.
We document physiotherapy assessment and recommendations. Specific certificate wording depends on your situation; discuss requirements at your visit.
Common steps include reduced screen time, extra breaks, quiet workspace, delayed exams, and part-time hours initially. We tailor suggestions to your symptoms.
Yes, with your permission. We can provide plain-language guidance for teachers and wellbeing staff on pacing and return stages.
Follow-up planning often suits telehealth between in-clinic visits. See our telehealth concussion physio service for remote review options.
