Understanding persistent symptoms

Post-concussion syndrome (PCS) is when symptoms stick around past the usual recovery window. Sleep, work, mood, and sport all suffer. The causes often overlap: vestibular dysfunction, neck pain, visual strain, poor sleep, and deconditioning from too much rest.

We follow Complete Concussions multi-modal rehab. Treat the systems involved, progress load gradually, and track your response each visit.

If you have not had a recent assessment, we start with concussion assessment to reset the plan.

What PCS management involves

There is no single fix. You may receive cervical manual therapy, vestibular and ocular drills, sub-symptom aerobic progression, sleep and pacing education, and cognitive load planning for work or study.

We coordinate with your GP or specialist when needed and document progress so you can see improvement, not guess at it.

Remote reviews are available via telehealth between in-person sessions when that suits your case.

How to book

Book online or call 0401 498 498. Bring prior imaging or specialist letters if you have them, plus a symptom diary if you keep one.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does post-concussion syndrome last?

Timelines vary. Many people improve with targeted rehab over weeks to months. Early specialist care reduces the risk of prolonged disability.

Can PCS occur without sports injury?

Yes. Falls, motor vehicle accidents, and workplace injuries are common. Treatment is the same: identify the drivers and rehabilitate step by step.

Do you treat headaches and brain fog?

Yes. We assess cervical, vestibular, visual, and exertion contributors rather than treating headaches in isolation.

Is telehealth available for PCS patients?

Yes, for review and education between in-person sessions when clinically suitable.
